The Cat Came Back

Jeff sent me a link to this today along with the note: "DO NOT show in front of Suzie". Suzie is our cat. I haven't decide if I like the video but the cat is definitely cute. It's a bit slow to start:

Juggling Progress

Juggling is a strange thing to do. Throwing balls in the air with hopes of catching them. Why I continue to do it is beyond me but I'm proud of myself that I have lasted this long. The last time I posted I had just started the 3 ball cascade.

It's been another month. I haven't moved beyond the 3 balls but I really didn't expect to. The most I've done in a row is about 16 before I suddenly go spastic and throw the ball five feet away. It's weird how one moment I am performing what appears to me to be a perfectly executed juggling manoeuvre (I'm positive Garfield would say otherwise) can quickly turn into a freakish jerk response. What also amazes me are these Neo interludes (Matrix reference) where I can catch a jerked ball a foot behind my head. It's surreal. Seriously.

My training schedule consists of 5 - 6 days a week for a minimum of 30 minutes. Some days up to 2 hours or more. I like to do it when I'm watching t.v. It drives Jeff crazy (especially when he gets hit with a ball) but overall he's pretty impressed too. I've definitely come a long way since I first started but I think/feel I should be further along by now. I just can't seem to gain control of where I'm throwing the balls. I would say I have 40% accuracy, 55% inaccuracy and 5 percent Neo (yes, again with the Matrix reference) channelling.

I have no video yet for you. Just trust me when I say I still drop it a lot. But definitely not as much as a month ago. And I still love doing it.

Emme on Cover of Figure Magazine

What a nice surprise to find Emme in my mailbox this morning. She's gracing the cover of the October issue of Figure magazine. There is also a profile from page 38 - 43 with some of the best pictures I've seen yet.

This is definitely the best cover I've seen so far. Many of the Figure covers have looked over touched or blurred in some way. Emme looks fabu-licious.

So if you haven't already, run out and pick up a copy!

(Congratulations on the lovely cover/profile Emme).

I'm On the Cover of Figure

Well, not seriously. The Figure Magazine website has an interactive feature to create your own cover and make yourself the star. You can even create a tag lines.

Yes, I could be using my time more wisely but I have been known for my procrastination techniques.

Make your own cover.

The latest issue if Figure is October and on the cover is one of my favorite supermodels: Emme. She also appears in a profile on pages 38 - 43. So if you haven't picked it up yet; run, don't walk to your nearest magazine outlet and get a copy.

School's In!

Jeff survived the first week of school and I survived the first week of him being at school. We went shopping today (I know! I got him out on a Saturday. I even dragged him to the mall for a matcha drink.) and we bought seven more neons to replaced all but three that died. They are so tiny. We also bought two blue Gouramis fish. Beautiful!

They all seemed to be settling in with the three neons, four black tetras and two otocynclus. I haven't been able to take my eyes off the tank for more than a few minutes. Hench my current stated of "holy shit".

One of the neons has been anti-social off in a corner by itself eating algae off the glass since we brought him home. All of a sudden one of my favorite black tetras starts nipping at it's tale. I of course was yelling through the glass "bad tetra" and "stop that". But instead of stopping he sucks the poor neon's head into his mouth. It's little tail wiggling for dear life. The funny thing about this is that I've been complaining to Jeff that he's been putting in too big of flakes for their little mouths. Apparently not.

Anyhow, I'm screaming for Jeff but at this point it's too late (and what's he going to do about it) and the fish really was too big so the black tetra spit him out and it sunk to the bottom. Jeff scooped him out before they could all go carnivore on the remains. It was very traumatic. Obviously more so for the neon than for me but still...

I like it better when I wake up in the morning and there is a fish missing. Sigh...
